How it works
Each month we count how many cars of every model are listed for sale in Canada at each price. For your budget, the tool works out how many listings of each model are at or under it, and ranks the models by that number.
You can narrow the list by body type, such as SUV or pickup, and by fuel: gas, hybrid or plug-in, electric or diesel.
Your privacy comes first. What you enter stays on your device unless you choose to text it to Uobo.
What this does not cover
- The list ranks by how many are for sale at your price, so it shows where you have the most choice. Most listed does not mean best, most reliable or best value.
- Cars at lower prices are mostly older with higher kilometres. Check each car's history and condition.
- A budget is the car's price. Sales tax, fees, insurance and running costs come on top. Use the out-the-door price calculator and the affordability tool for the full picture.
Common questions
What is the best used car for my budget?
It depends on your needs, so start with what you need and the budget. This tool shows the models with the most choice at your price, which is a good place to begin a shortlist. Then check reliability, running costs and the individual cars.
How much should I spend on a used car?
A common guideline is to keep total car costs, including the payment, insurance and fuel, to a modest share of your take-home pay. The how much car can I afford tool works it out from your income and debts.
Why are so many trucks and SUVs on the list?
Pickups and SUVs are the most commonly listed body types in Canada, so they often have the most listings at any price. Use the body type filter to see cars, hatchbacks or minivans instead.
Does the price include tax?
No. Listed prices are before sales tax and fees. The out-the-door price calculator shows the total you would pay in your province.
Where do the prices come from?
From cars listed for sale in Canada, counted by price and refreshed every month. The page shows which month they are from.
