Where to register: Any ServiceOntario location
What you need:
Used Vehicle Information Package (UVIP)
Bill of sale
Safety standards certificate (valid within 36 days)
Valid insurance
Driver’s licence
Emissions test (only for certain heavy-duty vehicles)
Costs (2025):
$32 for vehicle permit
$10 for licence plate sticker (in applicable regions)
Tax: 13% HST on wholesale value or sale price, whichever is higher
